WIN Waste in Baltimore
The WIN Waste Baltimore waste-to-energy facility diverts residential and commercial waste from landfills and converts it into renewable energy that powers homes in the communities we serve.
We’re proud to have invested $45 million in the Baltimore community and to be one of the cleanest waste-to-energy facilities in the world.
Each year, WIN Waste Baltimore:
700K tons of waste converted into 330K megawatts of renewable energy
the objectives of Maryland’s Renewable Energy Portfolio Standards, which reduce the state’s reliance on fossil fuels
to Baltimore City’s budget, offsetting $100M taxpayers would otherwise need to shoulder to expand landfills and haul waste to other states
Recovers and Recycles
12K+ tons of metals recovered from the waste stream
Annually Invests $750K
in Baltimore to clean, green, train, and support the city
Supports 80 full-time employees
with living wages — hourly compensation starts at $22/hour and averages $36/hour — and contributes $9 million in payroll tax revenue
We’re proud to work alongside incredible community leaders to support the places where we live and work. Join us at an event near you! We’ll provide the supplies – you just bring yourself (and some friends!), and together we’ll make a difference.
